i think that it took alot of courage for the four sisters to form a resistance against Trujillo. It took alot of courage to go against a person with that much power. When all of their husbands got arrested and Trujillo promised to let there husbands go and he didnt i think that was wrong. And when Trujillo took all of the sisters to a middle of a sugar field and had the prison guards rape and then murder them in my opinion wasnt necessary what so ever.

i think when the author used this symbolism to show this was very every effective. i could relate to the what the author was saying. Women are the flowers of our country .

In chapter 6 the author uses symbolism to show that flowers represent women. " young ladies are the flowers of our country.

What this book is about : the main idea
This book in simple terms is the lives of the four mirabal sisters during the time of the rebellion against Leonidas Trujillo who was the dictator of that time in the Dominican Republic.
